Chimes Across the Temple Grounds (2026) evokes the contemplative atmosphere of a Buddhist temple. The sounds of small chimes and bells carried by the breeze intertwine with distant echoes of rituals and chants. Delicate raindrops fall upon these resonant objects, creating a landscape of shimmering sonorities and reflections.
I was inspired by a visit to the only temple in my area. As I wandered through its garden, the subtle interplay
of sounds seemed to unfold like a musical meditation, leaving me with a profound sense of peace.
The piece won the Thai Wind Composers Call for Scores (Chamber Category) in 2026 and was premiered by Times Soul Percussion Group, conducted by Anusorn Prabnongbua, on 8 Aug 2026, at Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand, as part of Thai Wind Composers Festival 2025.
