About the Work:

Clank! (2023, rev. 2025) The sound of a pickaxe striking the cavern walls. This fantasy piece captures the working atmosphere inside the dwarven mines. A work song lies at its core with a theme that recurs throughout in different variations. Swirling high-pitched figures suggest glimmers of precious ore scattered through the stone, while percussive, metallic hits echo the clank of tools deep within the mine. These clanks, sometimes subtle and sometimes forceful, bring the mining scene to life, turning noise into music.

Performance:

To be premiered by Million Wind Philharmonic on 2 Aug 2025 at Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand!
